Vocus Fibre
ROC Communications won the contract to relocate and upgrade Vocus’ fibre network to accommodate the WestConnex road widening project. The work involved installing new infrastructure, hauling high-density fibre cables, and performing splicing.
Project Challenges
- Record Accuracy: The existing network records were inaccurate, complicating migration planning.
- Night Work Constraints: Extensive work had to be completed within restricted overnight windows to avoid delaying WestConnex’s road widening.
ROC Approach
The project required auditing the existing network, upgrading infrastructure, and preparing new fibre cabling for service migration. Service transitions were coordinated over 20 nights with six fibre technicians.
Results
The team demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism, meeting project targets despite challenging conditions and tight timeframes.
