Communication manholes & conduit installation

PROJECT OVERVIEW
R.O.C. Communications were appointed by Optilinx to install six large- scale communication manholes, in preparation for the new lead- in conduits for a new Data centre at Macquarie Park, NSW.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
This project required the installation of six communication manholes, with the connection of four lead-in routes into the data centre. The conduit arrangements were 10 x 100mm conduit banks with an additional 40 x 50mm conduit banks, requiring thorough and detailed staging from R.O.C. Communications.
CHALLENGES WITH THE PROJECT
With such a large amount of conduit banks for be installed into the communication manholes, careful consideration was given to staging of the works to allow the conduit installation and the manhole preparation works to be completed consecutively, meeting up at critical points through the project. Due to the tight timeframes requested by Optilinx, R.O.C. Communications mobilised several crews on a 24 hour day roster to ensure productivity and milestones were achieved.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
Optilinx praised R.O.C. Communications on their diligence throughout the project, with R.O.C. Communicationss field resources working hard through 24 hour shifts to ensure the Project was completed on time, within budget; and most importantly, as safely as possible throughout the days and nights onsite.

Chris was the Project Manager for the duration of this project, ensuring that safety was equal in importance to meeting deadlines, especially as the works were conducted over dayworks and night works.
Ben McDiarmid and Ari Moore – Project Supervisors
Ben and Ari was the Project supervisors for these works, splitting the day and nightworks whilst ensuring that the works crew placed safety as a high priority over throughout the shifts.
